Gerry Townend, Founder/Athletic Therapist

Gerry obtained his Bachelor of Physical Education at Brock University in St. Catharines. He attended Sheridan College in Oakville for Athletic Therapy and became a Certified Athletic Therapist in 1993.
Gerry worked for the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts for 10 seasons as their head CAT. While in Toronto, Gerry was co-owner of an athletic therapy clinic. Gerry has been with the Ottawa Senators as the Head Athletic Therapist since the 2002-03 season.
Valérie Beaulieu, Athletic Therapist

Valerie graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science (Specialization in Athletic Therapy). She is a certified Athletic Therapist, as well as a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Her career began in the Montreal area as an Athletic Therapist working with varsity and local sports clubs, such as rugby, soccer, football and hockey. She also has experience working in a physiotherapy clinic as a Personal Trainer specializing in the design and implementation of functional and progressive training programs related to prevention, rehabilitation and management of musculoskeletal injuries.
Valerie places a great emphasis on using a global approach when assessing and finding the cause of both sport and non-sport related injuries. She uses a combination of manual therapy skills, therapeutic modalities, conditioning programs and education with the aim of decreasing potential re-injury and to get back to full-functioning as quickly and effectively as possible.
Valerie recently became part of the Integrated Support Team as an Athletic Therapist for the Para-Athletics National Team.
Sarah Peters, Athletic Therapist
BKin(ch), Adv. Cert. AT, CSCS, CAT (C)
Sarah graduated with a Kinesiology degree from the Memorial University of Newfoundland and then went on to complete her Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy at Mount Royal College in Calgary. She also holds the Certified Strength and Conditioning Professional designation with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is an NCCP Level II Certified, Level III Theory Coach in figure skating.
Sarah brings a variety of experience and course work to her clinical treatment and treats using Myofascial, Mulligan, Muscle Energy, Soft Tissue Release, and Active Isolated Stretching Techniques. She also draws on her background in coaching and strength and conditioning for athletes and active individuals to ensure her patients receive an exercise program that will help them meet their goals and get back to sport and life faster.
Sarah has devoted much of her life to figure skating. Her latest skating endeavour has been synchronized skating on a National gold medal winning team. As an Athletic Therapist, Sarah has worked with many collegiate sports including volleyball, soccer, wrestling, gymnastics and rugby. She has also had experience at National Championship level events for figure skating and gymnastics and worked as a therapist for the Calgary Colts in the Canadian Junior Football League as well as the Canadian medical team for the Professional Bull Riding Association.
